Mike Ness discusses plans for next Social Distortion album

Mike Ness, frontman for Orange County, CA’s Social Distortion, recently sat down with the O.C. Register to discuss plans for the long-running punk group’s new album. Ness had this to say:

“I think the next step is a Social Distortion studio album, and I’m very inspired right now. Every time I take time off and I do this, it makes it fun to come back to Social D and visa versa. You go out and you do stuff that’s different and eventually you feel yourself wanting to play a little more aggressive – so it’s a great balance.”

Ness, who last released two solo albums, Cheating At Solitaire and Under The Influences both in 1999, has been doing a solo <a href=”http://www.punknews.orgtour off and on all year. The upcoming Social Distortion record still has no official title or release date, but is expected to drop around mid to late 2009 and will be their first in five years, since 2004’s Sex, Love and Rock ‘n’ Roll.
