Hello everybody and welcome to Navel Gazing: your look back at the week in Punknews. I’m Adam White and I’ll be your guide through some of the most popular, notable, and otherwise attention getting stories of the past seven days. So you know Chuck Biscuits of Danzig, Social Distortion, Black Flag, D.O.A. and a half dozen other cool bands? Totally not dead. The internet went crazy a few days ago when a blogger’s report of his death went viral. It turns out Chuck is indeed alive and the blogger was strung along in a good ol’ six month long hoax that cumulated in the death announcement. Punknews bears some responsibility in perpetuating that rumour without adequate fact checking and for that we apologize.

From the “actual news” department we had word that the Suicide Machines would be reuniting for a benefit show in November.

Split Lip / Chamberlain announced a
reunion show in New York City.

Bud Gaugh discussed the future of Sublime and we got word of the conflict over the usage of the band’s name.

Jawbox frontman J. Robbins also recently addressed rumours that the band would be reuniting for more shows beyond their appearance on Jimmy Fallon. They won’t.

The Lawrence Arms posted a live video of “Recovering the Opposable Thumb” from their recent anniversary performance. The Alkaline Trio’s Dan Andriano covered the Larrys’
“The First Eviction Notice” at the same event. The Lawrence Arms also posted the bonus track from their new EP for free.

Vocalist Nick Barham left Attack! Attack!.

Armor for Sleep called it
quits.

The Misfits‘ Jerry Only hosted Sirius-XM radio on Halloween.

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones detailed their new record Pin Points and Gin Joints

Tom Gabel discussed Against Me!’s upcoming full length White Crosses

Sound Study Recordings will release
Live at The Atlantic Vol. III with tracks from Ruiner, Gatorface, Tiltwheel and others.

Off With Their Heads has been
tapped to support Municipal Waste on tour.

Green Day posted the video for “21st Century Breakdown” from their recent album of the same name.

Tegan and Sara also unveiled their clip for
“Hell.”

This week also saw plans to immortalize Milo Aukerman of Descendents and GG Allin as polyresin figurines. We live in a weird world folks.
