im tired

i havent been sleeping much. i have to wake up every morning at 645 to get devin and myself ready for school/ work. its taking its toll. my back and knees hurt.

my job is kinda boring.

had some really fucked up drama with my house. the landlady finally agreed to give me a new stove. it was to be delivered on a saturday but i had to work, so erakuh agreed to wait for it. when the guy delivered it, the connector didn’t fit and he didn’t have one. The area underneath where the old stove was was littered with such items as cigarette butts, silverwear, and rodent poison. Erakuh wnted to clean it and asked the driver not to put the stove there, and he told her we needed to call a plumber.

I called the owner, no answer, so I called the usual plumber. He was “at the drag races” and couldn’t come til monday, and if I needed it done to call an emergency plumber.

To me, having a stove in the middle of my kitchen and a pile of dirt was an emergency.

I called the first costa mesa plumber I could find, and he said it would be $210

He came and fixed it and was very helpful and nice to erakuh, who was traumatized by the trash and the whole affair so far.

The owner called a little bit later and started YELLING at me for calling an emergency plumber and telling me I’ve cost her hundreds of dollars, and then hung up, called again and yelled some more.

Two days later I got a letter from her, telling me she wasn’t going to pay for the emergency plumber and how I’ve basically been a shitty tenant because all I do is complain and cost her money in repairs, and that “if you’d told me when you moved in that stuff was broken I would have fixed it.”

Bullshit.

Not only did I give her a large list of everything wrong INCLUDING PHOTOS, but I’ve probably logged 30 calls to her in the past 2 months.

Yeah, I complain a lot. But a lot of shit is unnecessarily broken and needs to be fixed.

At least now I have a working, clean stove and a new full sized fridge, thanks to jenn. We’ve been cooking almost every night. I want to start baking.

I’m bored.

heres a really really good cookie recipe. super easy.

    snickerdoodle
    1 lb butter
    1 lb 4 oz sugar
    4 egg
cream together in mixer or handheld mixer
    1 lb 10 oz flour
    2 teaspoons baking soda
1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon cream or tartar
    1 teaspoon salt
combine dry ingredients together in bowl
add to above ingredients and mix together.

for each cookie, whatever size you want, into a ball and roll into cinnamon sugar mixture (3/4 cup sugar and 1/8 cup cinnamon).

bake at 300* for 5-10 minutes depending on size.
cookie will be light brown at edge and center will be slightly collapsed.

try it. it makes lots of small cookies so if youre going to holidays you can bring them. let me know if you like it or if it works.

    banana bread

    3 to 4 ripe bananas
    1/4 cup melted butter
    1 cup sugar
    1 1/2 cups flour
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 egg, beaten
    1 teaspoon baking soda
Chocolate chips (as many as you want!)

    preparation

Preheat oven to 350°F. Mash the bananas in a bowl. Add all the remaining ingredients and mix well with a wooden spoon. Bake in a buttered loaf pan until a toothpick stuck into the bread comes out clean, 55 to 60 minutes. Slice and serve.
