It's a really strange feeling to look back at the time that I was really deep into the scene, going to shows a few nights a week at Chain/Showcase/Koo's/people's houses, and to imagine doing that with an iPhone in my pocket. Being able to take pictures or videos on a whim and have them posted online within hours for everyone to see. sometimes i'll tell my old lady stories from old notpop. or i'll tell her how i met people or whatever on there...
this blows her mind. she doesn't understand how people could meet on a website and become friends and end up hanging out/going to shows together/selling out together/partying/slowly descending into darkness...
it's incredibly hard to explain to someone how this ends up happening if they never really used message boards or got into any sort of "scene" or whatever.…
